Supervisory Board
Our Supervisory Board, consisting of three persons, supervises the Anthos Board of Directors (see below for more information).
Leen Meijaard, Chairman
Leen joined Anthos as Chairman of the Supervisory Board in 2021. He has over thirty six years’ experience in portfolio management and leadership executive positions within the investment industry. He is now the chairman of several supervisory boards including Achmea Investment Management. Previously, he was Managing Director EMEA at Blackrock for 15 years, a Director at Fidelity Investments and a senior portfolio manager at Robeco. Prior to that he worked at the ministry of finance at The Hague.

Michael Schmidt
Michael joined Anthos as a member on the Supervisory Board in 2023. Currently, he is Senior Advisor to the Board of LAIQON AG. Previously, he fulfilled roles such as Member of the Executive Board and Chief Investment Officer at LAIQON AG, Managing Director of Deka Group and Member of the Board of Directors of Deka Investment GmbH. Before that, Michael worked at Union Investment, Deutsche Asset Management/DWS Investments and Deutsche Bank.

Hélène Vletter-van Dort
Hélène joined Anthos as a member on the Supervisory Board in 2021. She has over 30 years’ experience in the legal profession in a number of noteworthy positions. After training and practising as a lawyer, she became a judge and professor of Financial Law & Governance at Erasmus School of Law.

Board of Directors & Management Team
The Anthos Fund & Asset Management (Anthos) Board of Directors is ultimately responsible for portfolio management and investment services, while each asset class investment team has its own Chief Investment Officer (CIO). This means there is full autonomy of investment decisions, which translates to speed, efficiency, aligned incentives as well as uncorrelated decisions across the different teams.
The Anthos Board of Directors is also responsible for maintaining a governance model that enforces strong internal control and contributes to our commitment to integrity, ethical values and operational excellence. We recognise that taking risks is part of doing business, it is even necessary to create value for clients. Nevertheless, we have taken measures to guarantee quality in both the organisation and the structure of our processes.
Jacco Maters, CEO and Chair of Anthos Board of Directors
Jacco joined Anthos in 2018 as CEO and Chair of Anthos Board of Directors. He has over twenty five years’ experience as an investor and senior director in the international investment sector. Before Anthos, he was CEO and Group CIO of Delta Lloyd Asset Management, with ultimate responsibility for Delta Lloyd Group's investment strategies. Previously, his career included positions as Group Head Equity and Group Head Derivatives at Allianz in Germany and Head of Structured Solutions as a Senior Vice President at Lombard Odier Darier Hentsch & Cie.
Jelle Ritzerveld, Chief Risk and Innovation Officer and Member of Anthos Board of Directors
Jelle Ritzerveld joined Anthos as CRIO at the start of 2023. Jelle has a proven track record over 15 years in financial services, managing supervisory stakeholders, and efficiently implementing innovation and change. In the past few years he worked at Aegon, lastly as Chief of Staff & Chief Transformation Officer at Aegon Nederland, where he was responsible for the full Aegon Nederland change portfolio, including the Data & Digital domain. Prior to this, Jelle held Chief Risk Officer positions at Aegon Group, Aegon Blue Square Re (Aegon’s global reinsurance company), Delta Lloyd Asset Management, and Kempen Capital Management.
Roger Dayala, Head of Investment Department
Roger joined Anthos in 2016 as Managing Director Hedge Funds & Commodities. In 2019, he became Head of Investment Department. He has over 20 years’ experience in asset management, broking and private banking. He has gained significant experience across the asset class universe, with an excellent public track record in asset allocation, equities, fixed income, convertibles, hedge funds and commodities. Before Anthos, he held roles at BNP Paribas in Amsterdam and Deutsche Bank in both London and Zurich. Previously, he had roles as MD Hedge Funds & Commodities, Head of Global Fixed Income, Head Advisory (across all asset classes) & Equities PM (lead).
Marjolein van Dongen, Chief Client Officer
Marjolein van Dongen joined Anthos in 2024. Marjolein is a widely recognized professional in our industry. Her former work experience includes Van Lanschot Bankiers (2005-2016) where she fulfilled various roles, lastly as a member of the Management Team of the Private Banking division in the Netherlands. From 2016-2020 she worked at Amundi, in the capacity of Deputy Country Head Amundi Netherlands and Head of ESG BeNeLux. She subsequently joined NN Investment Partners as Head of the wholesale affiliate business. In 2022 she rejoined Amundi after the acquisition of NN IP by Goldman Sachs.
